General Information:
Curilsk Bobtails come from the Curilsk Isles in the far East of Russia. The Japanese want them and the political situation there is rather strained. Curilsk Bobtails are probably related to Japanese Bobtails, although some claim that it is a separate mutation. One thing in which the Curilsk "bob" is different from the Japanese is that, the Curilsk's tail has unrestrained movement unlike the Japanese's rigid one. The Curilsks are also more rigidly built and much heavier than the Japanese. On the whole, the Curilsks are more stable as a breed than the Japanese.
