The York Chocolate Cat is a new American breed, it dates from 1983, and takes the first part of its name from New York State, where it originated, and the second part from the brown color of its coat. The long coat comes in a variety of chocolate colors and patterns. The dark ares being a rich, dark chocolate brown. Some are predominantly brown; others, like the one on the photo, show large areas of white.The body proportions are similar to the Siamese, but it is bigger. It is characterized as energetic, lively, playful, enthusiastic, agile and cheerful.
